Working Method

These images are a representative sampling from a body of work done in
eastern and central Kansas primarily, with occasional work in New
Mexico and Wisconsin. All work is done plein air, mostly on small
masonite panels.

Biographical

Founder of the Kansas Conferences on Imagination & Place, and Blue
Heron Typesetting. Instructor in painting and drawing at the Lawrence
Arts Center. Hotvedt lives with his wife and two children in Lawrence,
Kansas.

Education

University of Wisconsin, Tyler School of Art and the Maryland Institute
College of Art.

Hotvedt's work is included in a number of corporate collections and a
couple of museums but is most visible in the homes of a number of
really fine people.

Landscape painting and its enjoyment are not substitutes for social
